Saga FL 1.6 AT



The new Proton Saga FL 1.6 Executive has been announced by Proton today, carrying a price tag of RM46,549 in Peninsular Malaysia, a small premium over the previously range-topping 1.3 liter Executive model’s RM43,298 price tag.
This should be good news for those who have been asking for a high spec 1.6 litre Campro IAFM engined Proton Saga, as previously the 1.6 litre engine was only available for the B-Line in the pre-FL Saga model. This new Proton Saga FL 1.6 Executive is only available with a 4-speed automatic transmission and in a solid white color only.
Other differentiators for the 1.6 litre variant externally are new alloy wheels and the decorative body sticker that you see running across the shoulder line of the car. On the interior, Proton has added dark chrome finishing on the air conditioning outlets, the center panel, the door inner handle, and the steering wheel ring. Safety wise, the Saga FL 1.6 Executive comes with dual airbags for the driver and front passenger.
“The 1.6L Saga should provide car buyers, especially those from the younger generation of purchasers and car owners with an even more attractive, affordable, cost-effective and powerful alternative,” said Proton’s managing director Datuk Seri Haji Syed Zainal Abidin.

Satria R3


JENAMA R3 (Race, Rally, Research) sudah tidak asing lagi dalam kalangan peminat tegar kenderaan Proton Holdings Bhd (Proton) apabila kehadiran produk itu pastinya membuatkan kereta lebih berprestasi, garang dan mantap.

Produk R3 mula diperkenalkan di negara ini tujuh tahun lalu pada Proton Satria R3 selepas menerima sentuhan jurutera Proton Motorsports.

Jentera yang dijual secara terhad itu mula mendapat tempat di hati masyarakat kerana menampilkan rekaan menarik dan dilengkapi peralatan prestasi, sekali gus memberi pemanduan dinamik.

Jenama itu tidak berkubur di situ, malah kehadiran Proton Satria Neo R3 tahun ini pastinya membuka lembaran baru kepada penggemar jentera berprestasi keluaran tempatan.


Sesi pengenalan dan pandu uji ringkas Proton Satria Neo R3 kepada media, baru-baru ini ter nyata memberi gambaran menarik keistimewaan jentera ini.

Kali pertama melihatnya, penulis berasakan rekaannya lebih menyerlah dengan beberapa aksesori tambahan yang dipadankan padanya.

Ini termasuk kit badannya ditala semula R3 termasuk spoiler belakang dan bibir depan yang meningkatkan gaya pada roda depan untuk memberi gaya dinamik.

Bagi memastikan kit badannya asli, lambang R3 tertera pada setiap aksesori berkenaan sekali gus mengekal dan menjamin identitinya.

Ia hanya ditawarkan warna ‘red fire’ dengan bumbung hitam, malah bakal pemiliknya boleh menukar bonet gentian karbon daripada jenama R3.

Rim ringan dimensi 16 inci edisi R3 dengan kombinasi tayar Bridgestone Potenza RE001R 205/45 R16 menampakkan badannya lebih tegap dan garang di jalan raya.

Ia boleh ditempah sepanjang tahun ini, sekali gus membuat kan anak muda tempatan pasti berebut-rebut untuk memiliki kenderaan berprestasi itu.

Ketika menerjah ke dalam jentera ini, ternyata bentuk dalamannya berbeza dengan Proton Satria Neo apabila papan pemukanya dikombinasi dengan dua warna iaitu merah dan hitam.

Kerusi balutan kulit ‘Nappa’ hitam dengan jahitan merah dan kedudukannya lebih rendah bagaikan ‘memeluk badan’ membuatkan kepala tidak terhantuk pada bumbungnya.

Kedudukan tegap ke hadapan memudahkan pemandunya mencapai tombol gear dan memegang stereng dengan sempurna.

Ia dipadankan audio dengan sistem navigasi dan turut dilengkapi sistem keselamatan seperti beg udara berkembar serta Sistem Anti Brek (ABS).

Lebih menarik, jentera itu dilengkapi butang penghidup enjin, pedal kaki aluminium dan tombol gear yang menonjolkan imej R3.

Ketika dalam litar, jentera ini memang bertenaga dan tanpa kekurangan kuasa sebaik saja menekan pedal minyaknya kerana ia dilengkapi enjin 1.6 liter Campro pakej modifikasi peringkat kedua.

Modifikasi ini sekali gus meningkatkan prestasi enjin dan mampu menghamburkan kuasa maksimum 145 bhp pada 7,000 rpm, sementara 168 Nm pada 5,000 rpm untuk kuasa kilas.

Ia hanya boleh didapati dengan transmisi lima kelajuan nisbah pendek dan turut dilengkapi beberapa peralatan yang ditala semula seperti aci sesondol, kotak penapis udara gentian kaca, sistem ekzos 4-2-1 serta takal aci sesondol aluminium boleh laras.

Beratnya hanya 1,200 kilogram (kg) dan pengendalian kereta turut ditingkatkan dengan lebih baik untuk membezakannya dengan Satria Neo biasa.

Suspensinya boleh dikatakan cukup sempurna kerana ia boleh menyerap laluan bonggol tanpa menyebabkan penulis melompat dan bunyi yang terhasil ketika melalui halangan seperti berada dalam kenderaan mewah.

Jentera ini turut senang dikawal dan kurang membuang ketika menghadapi halangan kon seolah-olah tayar seperti melekat pada jalan raya.

Exora MC

Upgraded Proton Exora

There was a time when Proton launched a new model and because it was a Proton, every unit coming out of the plant had someone waiting for it. Even after 10 years in the market, it still sold better than other models that were newer and it seemed like there was no need to make it better. That’s the sort of thinking which is dangerous for any manufacturer as consumers get tired of something that is the same for such a long time. Furthermore, with competition so intense, rivals will be introducing new models that can draw buyers away.
The Proton of today has a very different attitude and does not take its customers for granted. It pays a lot of attention to their needs and expectations, trying its best to meet them and win them over. So it’s no surprise that just a year after the Exora was launched, an updated version appears in the showrooms today. Even though demand has been exceeding supply, Proton is not resting on its laurels and imagining that effort is not needed on its popular MPV.


The improved Exora, which costs about RM1,000 more, launched today has enhancements which are across the range comprising three versions – Base Line, (B-Line), Medium Line (M-Line) and High Line (H-Line). All three versions have a fresh new interior colour theme, steering wheel finishing and door inner handle finishing.
The Exora H-Line gets the most enhancements such as a new centre panel finishing, a new panel around the shifter, foglamp garnish, door visors and a boot organizer. The last item is simple like a teh tarik hook but will prove very useful when doing the weekly pasar malam shopping. If not needed, it can be detached and folded away to free up space for cargo behind the rear seats.
Both the H-Line and M-line versions come with standard 15-inch alloy rims and a bodykit. Leather upholstery is standard only for the H-Line, along with items such as a DVD/LCD monitor overhead, portable GPS navigation system and cruise control. There are no technical changes at all though some areas may have received minor running changes which are normal in a model's life.
Plum Red is a new colour choice that joins Blue Haze, Solid White, Genetic Silver and Tranquility Black. The Red and Blue colours are, however, not available with the B-Line Exora.
